Dignity at Work Policy

Oddness Ltd ("Oddness®", "we", "us") fully supports and adheres to the BFI’s Set of Principles on Bullying and Harassment. We foster a culture of respect, inclusivity, and have zero tolerance towards bullying, harassment, racism, or discrimination.

Scope

This policy applies to everyone associated with Oddness®, including employees, freelancers, contractors, agency workers, and visitors. It covers all work-related activities and communications, whether in-person, online, or via social media.

Definitions

  • Bullying: Offensive, intimidating, or malicious behaviour that undermines or humiliates an individual.

  • Harassment: Unwanted conduct related to protected characteristics (e.g., age, sex, disability, race, sexual orientation, religion, or belief) that violates a person's dignity or creates an intimidating or offensive environment.

Race Discrimination

In line with the Equality Act 2010, race discrimination (including discrimination based on colour, nationality, citizenship, ethnic or national origin) is strictly prohibited. Race discrimination can include direct discrimination, indirect discrimination, harassment based on race, or victimisation for raising race-related concerns.

Our Commitment

  • Everyone deserves respect and equal treatment without prejudice.

  • We will never victimise, unfairly treat, or discipline individuals who raise genuine concerns.

  • Confidentiality will be respected, although action may sometimes need to be taken independently by Oddness® to protect employees' welfare.

If You Experience Bullying or Harassment

  • Recognise: Familiarise yourself with the definitions above.

  • Document: Keep records of dates, times, locations, witnesses, and details of incidents.

  • Seek Support: Speak confidentially with a trusted colleague, manager, or support service (e.g., BECTU, Film and TV Charity).

  • Informal Resolution: If comfortable, directly address the individual involved, explaining clearly how their behaviour affects you and requesting it to stop.

  • Formal Complaint: If informal resolution is not possible or unsuccessful, submit a written complaint to your manager or another senior representative.

Complaint Process

Upon receiving a formal complaint, we will:

  1. Acknowledge receipt promptly.

  2. Arrange a confidential meeting to discuss your complaint.

  3. Conduct an investigation, including speaking to witnesses if necessary.

  4. Communicate our decision, recommended actions, and next steps clearly.

  5. Provide a right to appeal if the outcome is unsatisfactory.

External Support

If internal processes don't resolve the issue, we encourage you to seek external support from organisations such as BECTU or the Film and TV Charity.

Witnessing Bullying or Harassment

We share collective responsibility for a safe and respectful workplace. If you witness bullying or harassment:

  • Report your concerns to a manager or senior team member.

  • Confidential support is available if you're uncertain about how to proceed.

  • You will not be penalised for raising genuine concerns in good faith.

Formal complaints about witnessed incidents must be submitted in writing, providing full details, and will be thoroughly investigated.

Consequences

Individuals found engaging in bullying, harassment, or discrimination may face serious consequences, including:

  • Immediate dismissal.

  • Removal from the Oddness® crew list.

  • Prohibition from future collaborations or employment with Oddness®.

Training & Awareness

Regular training will be provided to ensure everyone understands and adheres to this policy.

Feedback

We encourage feedback to ensure the policy remains effective and relevant. Please send any suggestions or concerns directly to management.

Review

This policy will be reviewed annually for continued effectiveness and compliance.
